The scope of the projects Smart City can arrive to be very wide and generally the finance for his development is very significant and more in the current economic surroundings in Europe. This does necessary the planning of phases or concrete projects inside the generic project of Smart City.

The projects of Smart City usually involve the participation of different actors, of the public sector, deprived and of technological centres or of investigation. The social starting points, economic and organizacionales are used to to be very shoot, although the final aims always aim to the improvement of the socioeconomic conditions, environmental, cultural, etc. of the citizens.

The innovative line of the first projects of Smart City in Europe has made possible that the funds of Investigation and Development, articulated through programs like the 7º Program Marco and the next Horizon 2020 for the period 2014-2020, have funded pioneering projects in the development of infrastructure and technology of interest in the different fields that can cover the concept of Smart City like: optimisation of energetic resources, environmental appearances, management of resources hídricos, development of intelligent services for citizenship, services of mobility, etc. (See links of interest for greater information).

These funds go to be followed supporting of form decided lines of investigation and development that can improve the exert of the technologies in these fields, what opens field of important opportunities. Nevertheless, the escalabilidad of existent technologies and tested to any city is not the aim of these funds.

Another big road of finance are the funds of finance managed through public Administrations, like the funds FEDER, that nourish to different programs or lines of big interest in the development of projects.

But also it does  necessary expand the fan of possible roads of finance and lines of action for this type of projects. Although these ideas are not applicable in all the cases, if they can identify opportunities that do not contemplate  usually:

1. The presentation of candidatures of projects to funds of investigation that support financially the development of new ideas in Smart City.
2. Explode the potential of technological tools and systems of information to share information and services between different Administrations.
3. Identify and support innovative initiatives of citizen participation.
4. Deepen in the saving of derivative costs of the use of intelligent technologies.
5. Encourage the use of initiatives of Open Dates and the creation of new useful applications to the citizenship.
6. The Sponsorship of actions inside Smart City.
